Outplacement Services
Redundancy is a deeply emotional issue for all of those employees who are affected by it. Emotions can range from relief, optimism and the hope of a new start somewhere else to shock, disbelief, fear, feelings of rejection and grief and can prove to be an incredibly traumatic time for those who have lost their jobs and their livelihoods.
In helping those affected by redundancy, many employers have turned to us to assist their staff either wholly or in conjunction with other services to ensure that they are prepared and ready for the road ahead. We can tailor our outplacement services from merely helping with CVs or interviewing skills to a fuller programme as described below.
Outplacement Programme Overview
The scope of the programme will ensure that individuals formulate a sound job seeking strategy taking into account prevailing market conditions as well as their own parameters in respect of skills, qualifications, experience, salary needs and geographical restrictions etc.
Individuals will be offered tailored advice and information on the complete job seeking process from understanding the local job market and CV preparation to interview approach and technique in a way that will ensure confidence in optimising their potential in an ever-changing employment market. A helpful pack of support materials will be given to all participants.
The programme is one that will encourage individuals to be confident and to ‘help themselves’ to take advantage of the many resources available to them beyond the CJR Outplacement Programme. When appropriate, individuals will be welcome to formally register with CJR but only if they wish CJR to be part of their job search strategy.
Our in-depth preparation will be achieved as summarised below:
Initial Interview
An informal information gathering and confidence building session, during which we get to know the individual and they can learn about the assistance available to them through Catherine Johnstone Recruitment. Using this initial assessment, we will prepare an action plan and CV for discussion at the next meeting.
Main Interview
A more formalised meeting, in which we will discuss the CV, plan an appropriate job search strategy, assess possible training needs, and ensure the individual is suitably prepared for the interview process.
On-Going Activity
In addition to keeping all candidates informed of any opportunities which arise through CJR (should they wish us to), we will remain in regular contact to provide moral support, assist with any specific problems, and offer encouragement in their own job search.
